Luckily we are very fortunate to have a WONDERFUL son-in law, who works at a custom cabinet shop. Shameless Plug" who was willing to help us out.

Let me tell you this has not been easy. We have had these plans drawn up since last December. This is what it will look like when we are done. We ordered the cabinets in April and they are now sitting in Brian shop waiting for their new home. We decided that we were going to start Sept 24.
So last week my Dad came into town asking if there was anything he could do to help. I said "Of Course, why don't you start tearing out the kitchen floor." We are going to replane that floor and put it in my office. Yeah! So he started tearing out the floor on Wednesday, we got a little ways done. Not too bad.
The next day, I came home from lunch and I had no kitchen 
sink or countertops. Yeah, I think. My Dad, who by the way is 67 years old, pulled that crappy, I hate you, tile. 4 inch thick mortar countertop out. ALL BY HIMSELF. That is one tough guy. I was impressed, but I have always been impressed with Dad.

We spent Friday, Saturday and Sunday pulling the rest of the floor out and removing all the lower cabinets. On Saturday we actually had time to go and pick out our flooring and backsplash. Now we need to pick out a countertop. Who needs one of those! Actually a sink would be nice. Do you know what a pain it is to fill the dog's water bowl. Geesh!
This weekend we are working on getting the gas, plumbing and electrical run and hopefully have the painter in.
Right now we are living in CHAOS! Oh wait that's normal.
