Idle Hands Must Play

Sitting home alone on Saturday I couldn't find something to do. After contemplating my options...do I start tearing up the floor for the kitchen remodel...do I start painting...do I do laundry...Nah...those sound boring to me. After walking around I decided to take a look at Chris' Grandma's chairs. Next thing I know I had the screwdriver, pliers and hammer out taking the entire chair apart. This is the before picture. These chairs received ALOT of wear and tear. Every now and then we catch Sunra sitting in one looking out the window.

This chair was gross. Look at how torn up it was.

I took it apart carefully and found some fabric at the local Joanne's. I then sewed (I know can you believe it) the pieces all back together. FYI..Chris is the one who taught me how to sew.

I got the stapler, air compressor, and the nailer out and went to work. Good thing Chris has all those things handy. Although my Dad did teach me how to use the hammer. As well as the shovel, the wrench, and all those other fun things boys are suppose to learn. Thanks Dad....

....AND I put it all back together. What do you think?

I have one more chair to do and will start that one tonight. I wonder what else I can take apart and put back together before Chris comes home.

Salsa Time

Thought I would share our AMAZING Salsa recipe.

FRESH SALSA
WILLYG STYLE

20 Roma Tomatoes
1-2 Jalapeño Peppers (Depends on how flaming hot you want it)
1 medium Onion
½ cup of Cilantro
½ juice of fresh lime
Garlic Salt, Salt, and Pepper to Taste

We use a KitchenAid mixer w/the meat grinder attachment and run ½ the tomatoes, all of the onion, jalapenos, and cilantro thru it. If you don’t have a KitchenAid then a food processor or blender would work just as well. I then cut the tomatoes like you cut them for hamburgers and put them into an Onion Chopper. This gives the salsa that chunky/cubed look. We use this thing for $14.99 at Wal-Mart

Season to taste. I use garlic salt because fresh garlic leaves a bitter taste. I also squeeze in ½ the fresh lime, but you could also use a whole lime. The lime will also reduce the heat or you could always add more tomatoes.
